Introduction

The 22nd Canberra Tour is presented by the Canberra Cycling Club and will be on the weekend Fri 15th, Sat 16th and Sun 17th April 2005 . The Canberra Tour has, over 20 years, developed into the premier two-day cycling event in Australia .

History:

The race commenced as the Canberra Two day tour in 1981, with sponsorship by Spokesman Cycles until 1988. In 1989, Canberra Milk became the naming right sponsor and the race developed into one of the premier domestic cycling events. The Canberra Cycling Club is now seeking a new major sponsor to continue the success of this event.

U19 Men & Women Selection Race

The Canberra Tour is the first selection race for the Australian Team to the Junior World Road Championships and it is also the first event in the U19 National Road Series Calendar.

Request for Spares Vehicles

If anyone coming to Canberra for the Tour as support and has a suitable vehicle we are looking for spares vehicles to support the grades. Please contact the Tour Coordinator.

Sponsors

The king and queen of the mountains will be sponsored by Hammer `n’Cycle, Queanbeyans Bicycle Centre. The competition is being staged for all grades. Each stage will have up to four major climbs in stages 1, 2 & 3 with points and time bonus awarded to the top four riders.
