Three Essential Techniques for Roadies

Pro athletes develop simple techniques that become automatic. A three-point shooter’s follow through or a golfer’s silky stroke are techniques they’ve honed until they no longer think about them.[more.]

CANBERRA CYCLING CLUB

Welcome to the Canberra Cycling Club 'The heart of Australia's Cycling Territory'

Thanks for visiting the Canberra Cycling Club website; we hope you find this site to be a helpful source of information about the club and cycling in the Australian Capital Territory. Our introductory brochure gives you a good, quick summary of the club and if you're new to club racing have a look at the Club Handbook which tells you everything you need to know about the club from the types of events we hold, types of races, race rules and many other things that those new to the sport should know.

The Canberra Cycling Club is one of the oldest and largest cycling clubs in Australia, a great reflection on the club and the environment in which we are able to ride. The club is very proud of its members and at the international level our members include Matthew Hayman, Michael Rogers and Oenone Wood. We also have some great up and coming younger riders such as Tom Palmer and Chloe Hosking both of whom will be competing at the world championships later this year.

Whether aspiring to represent our club at “Opens”, at National Championship level or simply seeking to do your best and enjoy yourself cycle racing has much to offer boys and girls, men and women of all ages and abilities, from the beginner to the elite, competitive rider. If you are interested in improving your cycling skills, consider joining our Development Squad where we have experienced cyclists and coaches to assist you in achieving your goals.

Lastly, the success of a club is only as good as the support and help it gets from its members. Our 2008 committee is working hard to ensure the continued success of the club, but we still need the support of our members. The running of a large club always needs volunteers, so please help out whether it be marshalling for races or just offering ideas on how we can do things better as a club!

Thanks,
Jason Parkes
