Club Uniform Policy
Canberra Cycling Club members are not required to wear club uniforms at club races. However, members are required by Cycling Australia to wear the club uniform at all open races.
However, where club members are sponsored, and are not professional cyclists (ie do not derive their income from riding as part of a team), a sponsor may approach the club with a request for the club's permission for the riders to wear the sponsor's uniform at open races. The request should be made to the club Secretary in writing (either by letter or email) and detail which club members they wish to sponsor.
The club will provide the sponsor with a letter of approval. This letter will contain a list of the sponsored riders, and the sponsor should provide a copy of the letter to the riders it sponsors. Sponsored riders will need to produce this letter at the request of officials when entering open events. The club will also provide a copy of this letter to the ACT Cycling Federation (ACT Cycling).
In the interests of promoting a club spirit and a club identity approval to wear sponsored uniforms does not extend to Cycling Australia's 'National Club Road Championships'. At present Cycling Australia does not allow riders to wear sponsored jerseys at the event, and all club members should wear club uniforms when participating.
When wearing the club uniform riders should remember they are representing the club, and should not behave in a way that discredits the club.
