We aremissing two radios from the Canberra Tour, the first is anICOM UHF portable radio which is engraved with BMSC 06, and a smallUniden radio that was used by the marshals and or spares vehicles. The two radiosneed to be given backto the Brindabella Motor Sports Club.If you could have a look to see to you one or the other that would be great and get back to Peter GOUGH, Canberra Cycling Club, 0418 452 434 or petergough@netspace.net.au'

New Race Result System
Most riders compete in two stages on Saturday and Sunday, there is more data processed for results per day in the Canberra Tour than there is in the Tour de France with 200 riders competing in one stage per day.
This year all riders in the tour are required to wear a wrist band with a black disc on it. The disc is a passive Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) tag and it serves as an electronic race number for each rider. Riders will be required to swipe their tag in front of a proximity reader as they marshal to start an event and as they go through the finishing chute in their finishing order after completing a race.
This action replaces having your name called out for the start of an event, having your number recorded by Marshals at the finishing chute after the race and then having that information typed in to a computer. It is crucially important that all riders swipe their tags and get positive feedback through the visual and audible signal on the reader to indicate that their number has been read.
Recording of your tag number is the only positive proof we will have that you have completed a race and the order in which the tags are swiped indicates to the race officials the order in which the riders finished.
This innovation reduces data entry and removes a primary source of possible error in the results. If the Riders swipe their tags their finish will be recorded and a time and place for the rider in each stage will be generated. Each rider is responsible to swipe their tag.
Each rider is responsible for their tour results.
