Open Events and Club Reps
As opposed to A.C.T.based Club level racing, Open category races are interstate and national events that are open to anyone holding a current full race licence with the Australian Cycling Federation. (Some of these events are real classics.) Note that 'Club only' race licences are not suitable.
The A.C.T. Cycling Federation race entry form can be used to enter these events. As detailed below, send entry form to the State Federation that is running the event. You will need to use your browser's 'Back' button to return to this page after printing the form.
Entry to these events must:
- Be made on an official race entry form.
- Completed and signed.
- Be accompanied by the prescribed race entry fee (no cash).
- Be posted to the address given in the particular Cycling Federation's race program. This is generally the State Cycling Federation (e.g. for N.S.W. events, the entry goes to the N.S.W. Cycling Federation).
- Don't post to the CCC Unless Specifically Indicated. (A.C.T. Cycling Federation)
- arrive at that address by the specified closing date.
Club RepresentativesCanberra Cycling Club will consider providing financial assistance to club members participating in major national events and representative duties. Riders should provide their request for financial support to the committee in writing.The request should clearly outline: The event being attended; - The approximate expenses involved in attending;
- Other funding or assistance that has been applied for or is available; and
- How the club will benefit or be acknowledged through participation.
The Canberra Cycling Club Committee will consider the following matters when determining if, and the level of, financial assistance to be provided: - The cost of participation in the event.
- The type of event (e.g., world championships, world junior championships, national championships, etc).
- The extent to which the rider and their participation benefits the objectives of Canberra Cycling Club.
- Funding amounts may also vary depending on thestatus of club finances at the time of application.
As a general guide: - Funding will favour riders participating in major international representative events.
- Funding levels will generally be in proportion to the criteria above.
