Three Essential Techniques for Roadies
Pro athletes develop simple techniques
that become automatic. A three-point shooters follow
through or a golfers silky stroke are techniques
theyve honed until they no longer think about them.[more.]

41 riders turned up in threatening conditions to compete in the VCC/CCC ITT club championships. Fortunately the rain held off and the weather was relatively okay come race time.
All seniors competed over the same ITT course the VCC have been running during the summer series, with the juniors completing a 5km course.
Despite our luck with the conditions and the incentive of being the club champion in the ITT discipline for the next year, most grades didn't have a full complement of riders to claim the available medals.
Mens C grade was the closest in terms of times with only one second separating first from second, whilst mens D grade was the only grade to have a legitimate fight for the podium places.
Sue Powell showed off her ITT skills after they've been receiving a brush-up in Europe over the past month, taking out WB in front of Alice Wallet and Kate Huckstep, who made the peculiar decision that a single speed bike was the perfect steed for a course involving the sisters.
Thanks to the 41 riders who competed in slippery conditions. Thankfully everyone managed to stay upright with only Kane Piper struggling to negotiate the turn around marker. Luckily for him, his strong determination helped him navigate the cone and send him on his way to the finish line.
A huge thanks to my marshals, Ross Macpherson, Sam Lewin, and Kerrie Waide, who all stepped up and covered the Race Director as he was busying catching up on his sleep, only to emerge once all the hard work had been done.
My thanks aren't just limited to the marshals. Without the help of Mark Stevenson I would be lost and his role as a seemingly permanent marshal does not go unappreciated. Special thanks to his daughter Kayla who stepped up and helped out on the rego desk, sacrificing her opportunity for a full warm up.
The VCC medals are located within the trailer and can be picked up on any race day. If that's a problem, or you would like it sooner, email me atleigh.p.taylor@gmail.com. CCC medals can be received via Jason Parkes. I'll email him through the results and let him take it from there.
See below for times & placings. Please let me know if we've made any mistakes and I'll try and sort it out. Apologies to anyone I lead astray when asked what their time was straight after the race.
