Expressions of Interest are called for ACT L1 Road and Track Course

The NCAS Road and Track Skills Coaching Course has been developed by Cycling Australia in line with the ‘Australian Sports Commission (ASC)

Guidelines for the Design and Registration of NCAS & NOAS Accreditation Programs’. This coaching course provides coaches with opportunities to learn, study and be assessed for both the theoretical and practical aspects of coaching beginner and intermediate road and track cycling skills.

The course is accredited on the National Coaching Accreditation Scheme (NCAS) and, as a result, it is a nationally recognised coaching course and directly linked to the ASC Coaching and Officiating Unit standards for coaching.

Introduction

The Road & Track Skills Coaching Course is discipline and event-specific to Road and Track Cycling. It is designed for, and targeted at beginner coaches who assist beginner and club riders to develop their road and track riding skills.

The course addresses discipline-specific planning and evaluation, bike set-up, road and track cycling skill development and practical coaching. The course is two days in duration – day one is the AustCycle Skills Coaching Course (ASCC) and day two is specific to road and track cycling. It is delivered by the constituent organisations of Cycling Australia.

Pre-requisites

Candidates are required to:

  • Be at least 16 years of age
  • Be a financial member of Cycling Australia (CA)
  • Hold a current First Aid Certificate
  • Have a valid Working With Children Check, relevant to your state/territory
