Junior Road Nationals Report (U15/U17) – 6th-8th September

Conditions were fine and sunny, only a very light wind on all days (if any) temperatures reaching the low 20s.

The Time trial course is almost identical to the Wagga JT course. 150m longer for JM15 (around 12 secs longer), others, no change. All who contested the Wagga JT, did faster ITT times at the Nationals.

The Road race matched Stage 3 of the Wagga JT, except the final left hand turn was removed and the riders sprinted straight down Oura Rd.

The criterium was a good course and presented a challenge that required true crit skills (cornering, accelerating, aggression and positioning). The ITT was adequate, but would have been better had it included some rolling hills.
