CSIRO Fitz’s Challenge Team for Cancer Research

Be a part of a team in the Fitz’s Challenge to raise money for Cancer Research. “Ride 2 Cure Cancer”

The website is now operational http://ride2curecancer.wix.com/csirochallenge and the jerseys for the first 100 riders will be ordered on 11 September.

We have all seen the effects that Cancer has had on our employees, their family members and the general community, so when approached by one of my team to help raise funds for Cancer Support naturally we said yes.

Tony Hudson manages our Environmental Sustainability Team and is an avid cycler. Following the loss of his brother to an aggressive kidney cancer, as well as the recent diagnosis of another close family member with
non-hodgkinson’s lymphoma, Tony decided to help make a difference.

CSIRO is supporting Tony in his application to participate in the Tour De Cure 2015 Signature Event. Tour De Cure supports various cancer projects with a focus on research, support and prevention programs. A full list of
the great work they fund can be viewed here at the Tour de Cure Website www.tourdecure.com.au <http://www.tourdecure.com.au/pages/>

In order to raise funds for Tour De Cure, CSIRO is assembling a team of riders to compete in the Fitz’s Challenge, which is one of Australia’s best known and toughest one-day cyclo-sportive events. The Fitz’s Challenge will
be held on Sunday 26th October 2014 in the Brindabella Ranges near Canberra. www.fitzs.com.au

Our team goal is to raise a minimum of $15,000 dollars for Tour De Cure and reach the target of at least 100 riders for Fitz’s Challenge while raising awareness for the cause.

Fitz’s Challenge attracts approximately 1500 riders each year from across Australia and, with approximately 100 team competitors who shall be raising funds through their friends and family, we should be able to meet a
significant share of his target. The first 100 riders to join will also get a team jersey.

We hope that we can count on you to help support this worthy cause. If you would like to discuss this further, please do not hesitate to contact me on 6276 6561 or 0412 124 603.
