Coaching Course

The Canberra Cycling Club is committed to the ongoing development of all club members, whether they are racing at club or national level.

With this in mind, we are looking to increase the number of qualified coaches we have within our ranks allowing us to run regular novice programs, development programs and provide ongoing coaching support.

The coordination of a coaching course is challenging as, without the prior commitment from potential participants, it is difficult to book an instructor and location.

Through Cycling ACT, we are looking to coordinate the delivery of the NCAS Road & Track Skills course later this year. This course is discipline and event-specific to Road and Track cycling, designed and targeted for beginner coaches who assist club riders to build their riding skills and learn basic racing skills. The course addresses, discipline-specific planning and evaluation, bike set-up, cycling skill development and practical coaching. The course is a two day program combined with the AustCycle Skills Coaching Course and is delivered by the constituent state organisations of Cycling Australia.

Day 1 – AustCycle Skills Coaching Course
Day 2 – Road and Track Skills Coaching Course

For more details of NCAS Road and Track Skills Coaching Course, please download the information sheet. Please note, there are a number of prerequisites that must be completed before you can undertake this course. These can be found on the downloadable information sheet.
