Winter Program 2018

Winter Program 2018

Welcome to the 2018 junior road cycling season!  We have lots of changes this year, with a new venue for indoor sessions, thanks Pushys!  We have also secured Stromlo Forest Park Criterium track for the first Sunday of each month.  We will also be exploring the use of one other secret location, hopefully this will give the juniors plenty of variety and fun.

The details:

Thursday Night Indoor Sessions:

4:30 for a 4:45 start.  Finishing at 5:45

For these sessions you will need:

  • A trainer and bike
  • Water bottles
  • A towel
  • Food

All indoor sessions will take place at Pushys Plus Fyshwick.

Sunday Outdoor Sessions:

All sessions start at 9am. Please download the attached file for dates.

We will not be training on weekends of events (junior tours), public holidays or school holidays.  This has dramatically reduced the number of weekends.  Nonetheless, the program will offer great opportunities for your child to participate, improve, make friends and race!

Cost:

The Winter Program for 2018 is free of charge.  This is due to the help of sponsorship from McDonalds and Pushys, also from a dedicated group of volunteers.  Parents are encouraged to assist where they can and participate if they would like.  We have found this has worked really well in the past and would like to continue with a model that promotes all of the family getting involved!

What do you need?

  • A Cycling Australia Membership
  • A helmet that meets the Australian Safety Standard
  • A road-worthy bike
  • Appropriate clothing – it gets very cold and this can ruin your child’s experience.  Good quality cycling clothing is essential.
  • Covered shoes or cycling shoes.
