a free public forum on Planning, Coordinating and Providing a Better Cycling Environment for Canberrans –  the San Francisco Experience

The forum will be led by Timothy Papandreou, the chief transport planner for San Francisco. Timothy is a keynote speaker at this month’s Velo-city Global cycling conference in Adelaide and is in worldwide demand for his insights into building active travel (cycling and walking) into the urban transport mix.

Timothy understands Australian conditions, having been born and educated in Melbourne.
In his career as a transport planner in California, he leads by example and bikes the talk: he lived in Los Angeles car-free for nearly 9 years using public transport, his bicycle and occasional car rentals, and is car free in San Francisco.

Timothy will discuss San Francisco’s experience in promoting active travel, and the lessons learned about world best practice at Velo-city Global 2014, Adelaide. He will also engage with the audience and a panel comprising:
