Race Results

41 riders turned up to race the annual Uriarra Roubaix which sent riders up the undulating dirt of Mountain Creek road. Riders were blessed with blue skies and the sun. MD, ME and WB completed 2.5 laps, and MC, MB, MA, WA completed 3.5 laps of the course for a total distance of 40km and 55km respectively.  The lure of the event brought one rider down from the Sydney City club as well.

In A and B grades, combined on the day, the race was split up in the first lap with Sam Hill going solo early and staying away to take the victory. There was a bunch sprint in C grade with Hardy Lohse sprinting away from Paul Frankcom, Dale Brearley and Steve Rodgers. In D grade Peter Hosking was too strong from James Simpson on the uphill false flat drag to the end.  The rest of the riders were split up into either pairs or individuals as they slogged it out on the Paris-Roubaix styled course.

It was good to see a couple of juniors battling it out on the difficult terrain. Jordan Louis, a young up and coming B grade rider should get a mention for his strong ride on the day. He managed to hang on with the chasing A grade pack and was first out the B grade men across the line.
