I am happy to announce that after some consultation and feedback, we will be able to run our first Canberra CC ‘Girls Who Ride’ bunch for our junior girls on Sunday 28th March.  We will also be delighted to host riders from the Vikings CC too.

Jennifer Darmody (Sydney University Staminade) and Emma Viotto (Giant Racing) will be our ride leaders.

This will be a bunch ride for competent U13-U17 girls*, with the focus on bunch skills, fitness and most importantly, a safe social environment for mentoring, group conversation and good times, all under the leadership of our local experts, Jen and Em.

The route will be about 25km and will mainly incorporate the Majura Parkway bike path (out & back), starting at Dairy Rd and finishing at Pushys Café in Fyshwick.

Participating riders will need to be on normal road racing bikes, in safe working order, with water, snacks and warm clothing as required.  If the riders have CCC Juniors, Canberra CC or Vikings CC kit, please could I request that they wear this. (No worries if not though).

Date: Sun 28th Mar 2021
Ride starts: 9:30am
Ride ends: ~1100
Start Location: Dairy Rd Car Park, Jerrabomberra Wetlands
Finish Location: Pushys Bike Shop Café, 79 Collie St, Fyshwick
Café: 1100-1130ish

If you/your daughter wishes to ride, please could you RSVP by email to me no later than Wed 24th Mar. I know we had well over half a dozen expressions of interest so it would be great to see all the girls out there with Jen & Em.

Hopefully this will be a really fun inaugural event and hopefully inspires more girls to join the bunch and indeed the sport.

Look forward to seeing you all soon.
