At our last committee meeting, Tristan stepped down as President of Canberra Cycling Club, a position he has held for the past three and a half years. Prior to that Tristan served on the committee for a number of years, including as Vice President.
Tristan’s legacy includes steering the Club through the difficult Cycling Australia – AusCycling transition, where his attention to detail, diplomacy and legal nous ensured our best interests were at the core of all decisions made, particularly relating to assets and finances.
His collaborative and enabling leadership style allowed innovative ideas to flourish, including re-invigorating our road calendar, the evolution of our current Crits series and other race series, such as the Junior and Women’s Tour. Tristan was a regular volunteer at races in addition to his role as president, and regularly was seen in the driver’s seat of our dodgy race van with a grin on his face.
We thank him for his vision and efforts over this time. They have helped to put us in the strong position we are in today.
