Volunteer Help

Brayden RDing like a boss

Our Summer Crit series and the road season both rely on all of our members to pull their weight and help out a few times.

We’ve had a great response to date with heaps of our members stepping up and running our events. It has been awesome.

A quick scan of the volunteer roster (check it out here) shows that some members are going above and beyond, while others could do more.

It’s not a perfect list, but some names that appear again and again on our volunteer register include Trish Ellis, Malcolm Paterson, Tristan Dimmock, Steve Crispin, and Nathan de Tourettes. Thank you to these awesome members for leading the way in supporting the Canberra Cycling Club.

If you are yet to volunteer for your club, or have only volunteered once or twice in the past few years, please consider nominating to help at one of our upcoming events.

You can do it by either emailing [email protected], or by using our nomination form (our preference).

Our race organisation is as good as its ever been, and is a well-oiled machine with heaps of support for volunteers, including clear guides, checklists, and procedures that make volunteering (even race directing!) a snap). If you have been a participant in one of our recent events you would have seen this in action.

Some upcoming events that need volunteers include:

  • ACT Crit Champs Night 3 (10 March): Race Director, check-in desk)
  • Look Out Hill Handicap (28 March): Race Director, Assistant Race Director
  • Mt Tennant – South of Tharwa – Graded Scratch (18 Apr): Assistant RD, Setup, pack up, check-in desk
  • Uriarra Roubaix – Graded Scratch (25 Apr): Assistant RD, Setup, pack up, check-in desk

Volunteering makes club racing work. We can’t do it without you.

Cheers
